Simplistic: My Word for 2017

Hello all and Happy New Year........

This year I said I was not going to pick a single word to work on.....well lets face it I have many WORDS to work on......  but, I felt the need to be more intentional about becoming more SIMPLISTIC. Yes that is my word for this year, though I have started on down sizing and reducing clutter I still have a way to go.

Simplistic: My Word for 2017

I know that many of the bloggers are doing their word for the year and I really did not want to limit myself to just one word but this one really has been speaking to me lately. Living a more simplistic life is what I need, crave and want in my life right now.

Making sure I stick to my old rule, "one thing in one thing out" ....  BUT this year I will make it even harder! If one thing comes into the house then 2 things have to go out.  As well as the the extra decor items that I have taking up way to much room.

Clearing the Clutter

I do like to change my decor around.....  A LOT! I know that drives my Hubby crazy but if I am just not feeling it I have to change it. So keeping things on hand is not a bad idea but I just have to limit myself and shop my own house more. I will be doing a post soon about how to shop your own home to change things up, which can help you save money and stay on your budget!

There are certain places in my life that I need to simplify...

1. My schedule, it is ok to say no to some things. Balance is what I need to find to make this work. I have 3 kids with unique needs and they all need to be met in there own way but saying no to some extra things will be my challenge this coming year.

2. Using the 6 month rule will help me stick to the plan.... If I do not use it within 6 months it is given away, sold or thrown out. (not counting holiday decor of course)

3. Getting ride of duplicate items or things that I have more then I will need.  This is a good one for my kitchen, come on now, how many mugs can one house with 2 coffee drinkers really need. Yes this will include my Rae Dunn collection that has gotten way out of hand. We do need to have enough for company of course.

Well that is a good start for 2017......

If you would like to share what you are working on for this new year please leave me a comment. I would love to hear what some of your "words" or intentions are for 2017.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day.....

Be Blessed,
Debra
