Cleaning with Essential Oils

Today I am sharing with you on how I use Essential Oils in my every day cleaning. I want to stay away from harsh chemicals as much as I can with the kids and dogs around.

Cleaning with Essential Oils

I wanted to share with you just some of the ways I clean using natural ingredients and essential oils. I really only started using oils for about a year now but learning more and more each day. I have cut down using chemical to clean as much as I can. I am feeling better that our family and our pets are not around those chemical cleaners.

First is my Peroxide and Tea Tree Oil cleaner.......
This mix I used a clear glass bottle and added some Lemon Essential Oil.

This mix I used a smaller cobalt blue glass bottle with Tangerine Essential Oil.

I will fill my bottles with the Peroxide, leaving some room for the oil and a bit of water. I add about 20 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil. You can leave it like that or add an additional oil for better cleaning power. I sometimes add 10 drops of Tangerine or 10 drops of Lemon Essential Oils.

I use the glass bottles in my bathrooms but for the kitchen I prefer to use plastic as the kids will use this cleaner as well so it is better to have the plastic bottles in that space.

A really simple way to help your mouth and teeth when you brush.......

I get my Thieves Essential Oil from Young Living.
All you need to do is add a drop of the Thieves Essential oil to your toothpaste after you place it on your toothbrush. It helps with teeth whitening as well as keeping your toothbrush clean and helps fight bacteria in your mouth.

My last cleaning solution is.......

Vinegar and Orange Peels..........

I save my peels from my oranges, letting them dry out a little. Filling a jar with white vinegar and adding the orange peels. I let it set for about a week or 2 this way, infusing the vinegar with the oils in the orange rind.

You can use lemon rinds as well.

Pour out the vinegar through a strainer, leaving the rinds behind. I add a little bit of water to top off and the mixture is good to go.

You can always add some essential oils if you like, I do when I don't have enough rinds to make it smell more citrusy.

I also love the use the essential oils to clean the winter air in my home.......

I use my diffuser with a mixture of Purification and Lavender to give the air a clean calming smell.

For more tough smells I use either Rosemary, Tea Tree or Eucalyptus essential oils with a couple of drops of lemon essential oils for a more uplifting smell.

During the Winter the air can get stale from the house being closed up so I love to try new combinations of oils to see what works best.

Remember to keep your essential oils in an amber or cobalt bottle and away from sunlight so the oils will last longer and not loose their potency.

I love my oils storage box that I got from Amazon a while ago, it keeps them safe and out of the light.

Well that is about it for today, I shared some of how I use essential oils to clean around my home. If you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comments below.

Also if you have a cleaning mixture you would like to share please feel free to do so as well, I would love to hear from you all.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day.......

Be Blessed.
Debra
