Decor Style Changes

Wow it's been a while since I have been here, sorry about that guys. I will try to do better and keep this a weekly thing. Now sit a while and see some of my.........

Decor Style Changes

Seems that I'm heading back to the style I loved from many years ago, the Boho style. Though I still love my farmhouse decor as well, I needed a mix of both of them so now it is Boho Farmhouse Style.

Don't get me wrong I still LOVE a mostly white room and even more a white farmhouse room!!! But right now I know that is not possible for me and as I am changing so is my style, coming back to what "ME" is all about. That mix of things that make you smile, happy or just things you want to have around.

For example this cool head board I have had for years! I had taken it down because it was not farmhouse enough for me so I went with the standard metal vintage headboard. I loved it but then I needed a change, so I sprayed it black as the trend was headed that way anyways.

But before all of the changes, I was using this head board (see pics below) going way back. I loved it! It was original and unique, what I like. I was growing tired of just getting what every farmhouse picture had in it on Instagram, I wanted to express my own individual style.

A couple of years ago - FALL Decor

Well here I am today trying to find functional cool pieces of furniture that I LIKE or things that make me smile. Some new but mostly used, thrifted or vintage.

Now I have a house that more reflects who Debra and Kelly are, we love our vinyl records and vintage items. Thanks goodness I have an awesome Hubby that lets me express myself in our homes decor. :-)

I love that I have a small collection of books that I enjoy and read. Some I want to keep and others I pass on after I read them so others can enjoy them.

That tree stump table, that was built by my Dad's Uncle. It was something that he loved and it is even signed by my Great Uncle which makes the piece more meaningful. The shelf that my Hubby made me from my vintage corbels and old barn wood, doesn't get much better then that for me. Those wicker baskets that I got all 4 for $10 on FB Marketplace (they are high quality and worth $10 each) fits nicely into my cubby that I got at Walmart when it was on sale.

And can I say that the little gold zen doggie incense holder makes me giggle every time I pass him........

Well so you can see my changes are very mixed or eclectic really, while I still love some of my farmhouse stuff I am embracing more color into my decor. Don't get me wrong, I still love a beautiful neutral colored room.

I also love a simplistic room but that is yet another style I am not sure I can do, though I am trying to reduce my clutter and that seems to be working a little better. Taking the simplistic lifestyle a little at a time. Though I love the saying......

"Collect memories instead of things"

I just love that saying, I keep it front and center these days. The memories I get to make with my family is so much greater then the things I can collect! Sometimes those things can make you miss some pretty good memories.

OK as you can see, color is growing in every space of my house..... LOL

Things are always changing around here, that is for sure. Shopping my own house, thrift stores and junk stores have been my go to places lately. This way when I want to change something up I didn't spend to much money on the decor.

Also adding some real greenery sure has helped with the quality of air in our house as well as improving our life, I love how they fit right in and I am learning more and more every day about my plants.

I even started to put some crazy finishes on some of my furniture......

Vintage cabinet painted Copper Patina by BM with a metallic gold top.

Well this piece is now sitting in a local shop to see if it will sell, if not that would be ok and it would fit right back into our home.

Ok so there is all the changes that are going on with my decor these days..... Boho, Eclectic, Rustic, Farmhouse is not for  everyone and that is ok! I am really only here to make a house a home to myself and my family.

I would love to hear from you guys on what is your decor style and what has changed over time?

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great day......

Be Blessed,
Debra
